Encouraging Wildlife
Britain has 22 million homes, many with gardens. These gardens form vital corridors of wildlife habitat that should be maintained and improved. The importance of gardens as a refuge for wildlife is hugely important. Loss of land due to urban sprawl, road building and to the intensification of agriculture has meant that domestic gardens have assumed a new and ever more important role as a refuge for much of our wildlife.
A lot can be done to encourage wildlife onto your patch and bring it alive!
Our gardens can provide a place for wildlife to live. It is a place where wildlife can find food, water and shelter. Wildlife will find space to socialise and find partners to raise families, and some will provide food for others too!
