Meet The Team at Cleeve Nursery



geoffAfter training as a chef and working for 12 years in the hotel and catering trade in Bristol, Geoff joined the team in 1993 as a sales assistant. Since then he has attained various qualifications including the RHS certificate, the HTA Retail Plant Care Award (Gold Level), as well as a handful of management qualifications.

Promoted to manager in 2002, Geoff is responsible for keeping the garden centre stocked with plants and the day to day running of Cleeve Nursery.

Judith joined Cleeve Nursery in 2003, having gained an HND in Horticulture from Pershore College. Initially employed as a garden centre assistant she became garden centre supervisor in 2008.

Aside from general plant and customer care, Judith is responsible for climbing plants and for purchasing garden sundries, tools, fertiliser, pest control items and the large wildlife section.

Judith is also one of our team of designers who under take gold and silver level plans, as part of our Border Design Service.

cleeve nursery, bristolJeremy joined the team during August 2015.

Jeremy has an extensive knowledge of practical and theoretical gardening having until recently run his own gardening business in North Somerset.

Jeremy has the Ordinary National  Diploma in Horticulture qualification which he took at Cannington College. He and has a sound knowledge of gardening gained from this study and previously working at Bristol Zoo, Bristol University, Goldney Hall but mostly at  Homebase in Weston super Mare.

JamieWilliamsJamie is the youngest member of our full time team at Cleeve Nursery and has completed a modern day apprenticeship with us. This was administered by Bridgwater College at the Cannington Centre.

Jamie is tasked with ensuring that our plants remain healthy and pest free. He has already gained a wide knowledge of gardening and of garden plants that grow well in North Somerset and Bristol.

Jamie is already a keen vegetable grower.

sharonSharon joined the team at Cleeve Nursery in September 2003, after working many years in nursing.

She is an extremely keen home gardener with a special interest in growing her own fruit and vegetables.
She takes every opportunity to improve her small but interesting Cleeve flower and shrub garden.

Kirstinemugshot_000Kirsty comes to us with a wealth of nursery and gardening knowledge! Kirsty is responsible for growing our own plants in our Longacre Nursery on the opposite side of the road to the garden centre. Formerly growing plants at the nursery of Bristol Zoo Gardens and with experience gained at other local North Somerset nurseries, she maintains the very high quality of plants that we grow. She supervises the team at Longacre Nursery and grows approximately 700 varieties of hardy plants.

cleeve nurseryJanet joined us in 2013 and assists Kirsty with the growing our own plants in our Longacre Nursery. This is in Cleeve but on the opposite side of the road to the garden centre.

She has the RHS Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture Level 2 and has started to study Level 3 at Bridgwater College. She studied for this qualification at home. She has a MSc. in Water Pollution, Control and Technology.

Her move to Cleeve Nursery constitutes a career change from working for Wessex Water but she has considerable experience of gardening.
