Meet The Team
After training as a chef and working for 12 years in the hotel and catering trade in Bristol, Geoff joined the team in 1993 as a sales assistant. Since then he has attained various qualifications including the RHS certificate, the HTA Retail Plant Care Award (Gold Level), as well as a handful of management qualifications.
Promoted to manager in 2002, Geoff is responsible for keeping the garden centre stocked with plants and the day to day running of Cleeve Nursery.
Aside from general plant and customer care, Judith is responsible for climbing plants and for purchasing garden sundries, tools, fertiliser, pest control items and the large wildlife section.
Judith is also one of our designers who under takes our Border Design Service.
Jeremy joined the team during August 2015.
Jeremy has an extensive knowledge of practical and theoretical gardening having until recently run his own gardening business in North Somerset.
Jeremy has the Ordinary National Diploma in Horticulture qualification which he took at Cannington College. He and has a sound knowledge of gardening gained from this study and previously working at Bristol Zoo, Bristol University, Goldney Hall but mostly at Homebase in Weston super Mare.
Jamie is the youngest member of our full time team at Cleeve Nursery and has completed a modern day apprenticeship with us. This was administered by Bridgwater College at the Cannington Centre.
Jamie is tasked with ensuring that our plants remain healthy and pest free and is responsible for our house plant range. He has already gained a wide knowledge of gardening and of garden plants that grow well in North Somerset and Bristol.
Jamie is already a keen vegetable grower.
Sharon joined the team at Cleeve Nursery in September 2003, after working many years in nursing. Sharon also holds the RHS Level 3 qualification.
She is an extremely keen home gardener with a special interest in growing her own fruit and vegetables.
She takes every opportunity to improve her small but interesting Cleeve flower and shrub garden.
Kirsty comes to us with a wealth of nursery and gardening knowledge! Kirsty is responsible for growing our own plants in our Longacre Nursery on the opposite side of the road to the garden centre. Formerly growing plants at the nursery of Bristol Zoo Gardens and with experience gained at other local North Somerset nurseries, she maintains the very high quality of plants that we grow. She manages the team at Longacre Nursery and grows approximately 700 varieties of hardy plants.
Manuel is the most recent addition to the team joining in November 2018. Passionate about horticulture and outdoor spaces, with an in-depth knowledge of plants and garden design.
Manuel holds a RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Construction and Planting and a RHS Level 3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture. Currently undertaking RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth, Health and Applied Propagation.
Manuel works predominately on the nursery side assisting Kirsty but also works in the Garden Centre.
